Former India captain MS Dhoni is currently in England where he celebrated his 41st birthday last week with his family and some close friends. He was seen watching the 2022 Wimbledon and was part of the crowd during India’s tour of England. Dhoni was spotted in the second ODI at the Lord’s where the Men in Blue suffered a 100-run defeat.

Recently a video has been making rounds on social media where the former captain is been mobbed in London streets by a bunch of fans. Many Indian fans were seen chasing MS Dhoni, while some were even seen taking running selfies while keeping up with his security personnel.

Incidents like these tell us how the cricketing world has missed MS Dhoni on the international circuit, but his appearances in the IPL has been largely celebrated. So when the news broke that Dhoni was coming back for the 2023 season, fans were overjoyed.

While speaking to Ian Bishop before CSK’s last game of IPL 2022 against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni talked about returning to the team for one more year. He said, “Well, I think, definitely. It’s a simple reason. It will be unfair to not play in Chennai and say thank you. Mumbai is one place where, as a team and as an individual, I have got a lot of love and affection. But, you know it won’t be nice to the CSK fans.”

“And also, hopefully, next year the teams will get an opportunity to travel, so it will be like a thank all the different places where we will be playing games at different venues. Whether it will be my last year or not that's a big question because you know we can't really predict about something two years down the line, but definitely, I'll be working hard to come back strong next year,” Dhoni added.
