Match number 36 of the Big Bash League (BBL), which is being played between Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes at The Gabba in Brisbane, saw the match halt for a few minutes after a fire broke out at the stadium. The incident took place at the end of the fourth over during Hurricanes’ run-chase.
Speaking of the incident, while Hurricanes chased a mammoth total of 202 runs at the Gabba, the game was suddenly stopped after flames started to erupt near the DJ booth at the end of the fourth over. However, a man was spotted with a fire extinguisher to put off the flame, the police authorities began the evacuation process.

According to several reports, the location of the fire was reported to be on the third tier situated underneath the scoreboard of the venue. After indepth invetigation, the game resumed with Caleb Jewell (25 off 14) and Mitchell Owen (20 off 10) in the middle as the Hurricanes scorecard read 47/0 after four overs.
