Argentina defeated France in penalties on Sunday in the FIFA World Cup 2022 final to claim their third title victory. Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez endlessly mocked France star forward Kylian Mbappe during the celebrations of their World Cup triumph and a footage has reemerged, where France players mocked Lionel Messi after winning the 2018 World Cup.

Despite scoring a World Cup final hattrick for the first time since Geoff Hurst in 1966, Kylian Mbappe received some brutal trolling from Argentina fans and particularly by Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. Mbappe scored a late hattrick to force the game into the penalties, where Martinez pulled off some sensational saves to help Argentina lift the World Cup trophy.

After the game, Martinez mocked Mbappe in the dressing room by asking for a 'moment of silence' for the PSG star.

The Argentina goalkeeper took the trolling to the next level by bringing a baby toy that has Mbappe's face on it during the victory parade. Many called out Messi for his lack of companionship for his reserved antics and not saying anything on his PSG teammate's trolling.

France beat Argentina 4-3 in the Round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup and went on to win the title. During their victory celebration at the Stade de France, France players sang their song about the shy yet talented midfielder, N'Golo Kante. In their song, the French players mentioned 'stopping Lionel Messi' as the song can be translated to, " He's little, he's sweet, he stopped Leo Messi. "

Although, Messi and Mbappe weren't teammates during the France celebration, many fans took a stand for Lionel Messi-led Argentina saying that the 23-year-old didn't stop his team from trolling and humiliating the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Apart from Napoli and Benfica, PSG are the only club yet to lose a league game this season in the top European leagues. The French champions will resume their Ligue 1 campaign from Wednesday night when they face Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes.
