Dana White’s newest creation, the Power Slap league has been all the rage in the MMA world over the last few months. The open-handed fight competition has received mixed reviews but this hasn’t stopped White from pushing the tournament across different platforms. In one such video, former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping is seen taking part in the action.

In a clip posted by Dana White, Bisping is seen slapping a Power Slap competitor as the count was asked to the honours. UFC play-by-play presenter seems apprehensive at the start and lands a light slap. But the Power Slap fighter demands more from the former UFC champion pushing a charged-up Bisping to launch another tight slap.

Bisping can be heard saying "You're a f*****g psycho" to the Power Slap athlete towards the end of the clip. But many MMA journalists aren’t hyped-up about this event and have questioned the Nevada State Athletic Commission, regarding the safety standards in this sport. Members of the media have questioned the conditions of the competitors as they suffer countless concussions to the head.

The blows lead to headaches, memory loss, brain fog, and disorientation in the short term and even more severe issues in the long term. Hence addressing the issue, Ariel Helwani, in a recent appearance on The MMA Hour called out the NSAC and stated that the board is losing credibility for allowing such a competition.

"I still maintain the ones who look the worst in all of this are the commissions, and in particular Nevada. The officials, both the ones working for Nevada and the UFC, who are attaching themselves to this. Because to me you’re losing a lot of credibility, if not all of it, if you are saying that this is something that is worthy of your time, that you want to be a part of, anything like that," he said.
