The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is finally taking some shape as some teams continue to toil hard and fail to make a mark with a win, meanwhile some teams, who were often considered as underdogs are fighting hard for a semifinals berth. On October 28, the ongoing World Cup saw another upset as Bangladesh suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Netherlands.

This defeat of the Shakib Al Hasan-led side did not sit well with the fans as those present inside the stadium were seen taking out their frustration in several manners. While some slammed the players for their dismal outing, a fan vented out his frustration by slapping himself with a shoe. The video of the same is now doing rounds on social media with several others present around him agreeing to his statements.

Talking about the match, the Scott Edwards-led side won the toss and opted to bat first. The Dutch put up 229 at the loss of ten wickets in their 50-over inning, courtesy a half-century knock from the skipper. Meanwhile, the bowlers did their part in the second innings as they reduced the Bangla Tigers to 142/10. While Paul van Meekeren completed a four-wicket haul, Bas de Leede scalped two with Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek and Colin Ackermann finishing with a wicket each.

Netherlands will next take on Afghanistan on November 3 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh will take on Pakistan, who are also coming on the back of four consecutive losses on October 31 at the Eden Gardens.
