On July 3 (Sunday), the motorsports driver George Russell earned respect from the fans and sporting fraternity after his gesture towards his fellow racer Zhou Guanyu. Russel was forced out of the race after a horrific accident on Lap 1 of the British Grand Prix with Zhou.

It can be clearly seen in the video that both the drivers misjudged their lane during the race. It all happened in the first few seconds of the start of the race. After the collision of both the cars, Zhou’s car turned upside down and got crashed into the hoarding. In an immediate manner, George Russell stopped and ran towards the Chinese star’s wreckage. The race was also suspended, and the teams rushed to the destroyed Alfa Romeo.

The Sky Sports commentator David Croft confirmed that Zhou has been taken on a stretcher to the medical center at Silverstone. Also, another driver Alex Albon was sent for a spin by Aston Martin's Sebastien Vettel in the first few seconds of the race.

Russel took to Twitter and reckoned it was a scary incident and breathed a sigh of relief after Zhou was found to be fine. He also thanked the medical team for their quick response. In the end, he apologized to the fans for not finishing the race.

FIA announced that both the drivers are conscious and have not sustained major injuries. Albon was taken by helicopter to the Coventry Hospital, situated nearby the circuit.

“The FIA advises that following the incident at the start of the race, emergency crews were immediately in attendance, and the drivers of Car 23 (Albon) and Car 24 (Zhou) have been taken to the medical centre.

“Both drivers were conscious and will be evaluated at the medical centre. Further updates will be given in due course.”
