South Korea and Ghana took on each other in a Group H match on Monday. It was a closely fought contest with Ghana taking the game home. The West-African country defeated the East Asian nation 3-2 to keep their qualification hopes alive. Mohammed Kudus was the star for Ghana as he netted two goals. Mohammed Salisu also hit one goal for the winners while Cho Gue-sung was the only scorer for South Korea.

Ghana got an early lead with Salisu hitting the back of South Korea’s net in the 24th minute. Kudus extended the lead as he scored his first goal in the 34th minute. Meanwhile, South Korea could not score in the first half and were trailing 2-0. But Gue-sung brought the contest to life when he hit two goals in a span of three minutes. The South Korean striker hit the first goal in the 58th minute to open the scoring for his team.

In the 61st minute, Gue-sung once again found the back of Ghana’s net to level the scores at 2-2. Now, it was up to his mates to not conceded a goal if South Korea had to win. But they failed as Mohammed Salisu hit his second goal in the 68th minute to bring Ghana back in lead. The two teams fought hard till the final whistle was blown and Ghana were the eventual winners.

With their team winning, Ghana supporters were over the moon. They celebrated the win in all ways possible. But also ensured they don’t litter around too much. The few packets left in the stands were also cleaned up by the Ghana supporters.

Notably, a few days back, Japan grabbed limelight when the supporters cleaned up the stadium after their team’s win over Germany in FIFA World Cup 2022.
