Glamorgan youngster Ben Kellaway showcased his incredible ambidextrous ability by becoming wickets with both hands against Surrey in the Metro Bank One Day Cup. The Welsh county registered a comprehensive seven-wicket after bundling out Surrey for a small total at the Kia Oval, in Kennington.

Starting with the ball,  Glamorgan made the most of the new ball and depleted Surrey to 11-3 inside six overs against Timm van der Gugten and Jamie McIlroy. Ben  Foakes and Rory Burns added 53 before Dan Douthwaite picked up two wickets in two balls in his second over to get the Welsh back on top.

Then came  Ben Kellaway, who brought his wizardry to pick up two wickets with both his arms. He cleaned up Conor McKerr, a right-hander by bowling left-arm round the wicket and then dismissed Matt Dunn LBW, a left-hander, bowling right-arm off-spin from round the wicket. The 20-year-old became the first bowler to take wickets with both arms in a county cricket innings since Kent’s Charles Rowe in 1980.

It’s been in the works for a while:  Kellaway on bowling with both arms

With this incredible bowling effort, Glamorgan bundled out Surrey at 121 in 34 overs. Then with the bat, South African veteran Colin  Ingram starred with a  39 in 26 balls to take Glamorgan over the finish line in  15.5 overs. After the game,  Kellaway spoke about how he had been working on this skill over the previous winter.

Ben Kellaway said,  “It’s been in the works for a while. I’ve worked hard on it this winter, and it’s nice to have the opportunity and the backing from my teammates and the coaching staff to actually bring it out and express my skills. It’s nice that it came off.”
