After a struggling start to the semi-final against England, the Indian recovered well thanks to the efforts of the two batters. Virat Kohli stabilised the Indian innings with his composed half-century and then Hardik Pandya smashed the English bowling attack all over the Adelaide Oval to post a 168-run total.
But on the last ball of the innings, Pandya got out in one of the most absurd manners as he was hit wicket. The all-rounder was all guns blazing in the final over and wanted to finish off the innings with another boundary. But Pandya went too deep in the crease and dislodged the stumps and was dismissed for 63 in 33 balls.
