Team India is currently in a good position in the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka. The hosts have reduced the Lankan side to 78/5 in 12 overs. However, the side had a scare in the 11th over as skipper Hardik Pandya went down in pain after completing the catch of Rajapaksa. Harshal Patel bowled a slower-length ball which the batter looked to chip over mid-off but he couldn't get the required distance. Pandya took the catch comfortably but he soon went down in pain while grabbing his right leg. However, it turned out to be cramps and the all-rounder walked off the field with a smile.

Vice-Captain Suryakumar Yadav led the troops in the absence of Pandya. However, Pandya soon returned to the field and resumed playing. But he could not bowl his full quote of four overs and India had to get the last over completed by Axar Patel.

The India captain also provided an update about it saying it was just cramps. " It is just cramps. Now I have a tendency to scare people but if I am smiling then everything is fine. I did not sleep well, did not drink enough water and hence the glutes were stiff," said Pandya at the post-match presentation.
