The swashbuckling batter Hardik Pandya looked in imperious touch in the ongoing 1st T20I game against Australia in Mohali. Arriving at the crease in the 12th over, he started off the innings by stamping his authority over Pat Cummins by sending the ball to the deep mid-wicket stands.

The 28-year-old exhibited his hitting prowess once again to steer the team at a lavish rate in the slog overs, while not requiring any partner at the other end.

Pandya unleashed mayhem against Cameron Green by hitting three consecutive sixes in the last three balls of the innings.

The first one was a maximum over the deep mid-wicket, followed by a confident lofted shot towards the long-off boundary.

The last one was a sensational shot which was fetched from the short ball, wide outside off and helped India to post 208 on the board. Pandya remained unbeaten on 71 off 30 balls, laced with seven fours and five sixes. This is also Hardik's highest T20I score.

Earlier, the dismissals of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for low scores certainly hurt the hosts. However, KL Rahul (55 off 35) and Suryakumar Yadav (46 off 25) produced a terrific fightback for the team and laid a launchpad for the middle-order.

Nathan Ellis was the pick of the bowlers for England with three scalps, followed by Josh Hazlewood taking two wickets.
