While it hasn't really been a tournament that has seen the best fielding standards overall, there have been moments of absolute brilliance. One of those was on display during the match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. With the required run out of the Royal Challengers Bangalore escalating after they were asked to get 210 in their 20 overs and lost their main batters early, it was all up to the lower order to at least try and get neat the total.
This is because it will come down to the net run rate as a defeat here would mean Bangalore will not be able to get to the 18 points required for keeping the destiny in their own hands and with their net run rate already bad, the lower order batters were trying to do just that. In the 17th over, Wanindu Hasaranga tried to clear the deep midwicket fence and almost cleared it but a spectacular effort from Harpreet Brar meant he had to go back to the pavilion.
Brar initially jumped in the air to grab the ball before throwing it away inside the line as he was falling over the ropes but he came back inside the line in time to complete the catch. The third umpire did check if his feet did touch the boundary line but they seemed fine and Hasaranga had to depart. Rahul Chahar got the wicket to his credit but he will have Brar to thank once they finish the game.
