Ahead of the two-match Test series between New Zealand and England, both teams began with their two-day warm-up match. On Day 1 of the warm-up match, England won the toss and opted to bat first. But Day 1 also saw some serious hitting from the England batters.

However, Brook missed a century by three runs, in the 36 th  over of the England inning, Harry Brook smashed Adithya Ashok off five consecutive sixes, amassing 30 runs in that particular over.

In his innings of 97, he launched nine sixes in Hamilton. The young England cricketer who smashed three centuries in all three Tests between England and Pakistan, is close to becoming just the second England batter to score centuries in four successive Tests after Ken Barrington (1960s). 

New Zealand and England will play two Tests, starting February 16 at the Bay Oval, Mount Mauganui. The second match will take place between 24-28 February at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
