The game took an interesting turn in the 49th over when Hasan Mahmud displayed a bit of football skills and kicked the ball to dismiss Dunith Wellalage.

Wellalage was on the non-strike when Sadeera Samarawickrama had held the steering for his side. The over was being bowled by Hasan Mahmud, and on the third ball of the over when Samarawickrama received a yorker, the Lanka players ran for a quick single. However, Wellalage fell short of the crease as Mahmud was quick enough to kick the ball and hit the stumps.
