As cricket takes centre stage, commentators are often the soundtrack of the game. But during a particular passage of play what happened in the commentary box made more headlines and entertained people than the on-field action. This was during the Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars on December 12.

The contest was staged at the Sydney Showground Stadium but by the end of the match, there were more talking about commentator Isa Guha's remark than the match itself.

Notably, while the match was on, it was one particular witty but double-meaning remark from the former England cricketer Guha that left everyone in splits including former Australian wicketkeeper batter Adam Gilchrist who was sharing the commentary box with her.

In a video that is now going viral on the internet, Guha and Gilchrist were seen listening attentively to their fellow commentator as he was narrating a story about spin bowling and carrom bowl. The speaker concluded his statement by saying: "Spin bowling coaching clinics where the head coach has said, y’all know… You just show me your bowling hand. The guy or kid with longest middle finger was identified as a potential carrom-bowler."

It was here that Guha chipped in, tapped the fellow commentator who said the abovementioned lines and asked "How big is yours?" What added to the comic nature of the events was Gilchrist's reaction who initially read out the score to try and change the topic but then made a cheeky face as if he was restraining himself from laughing.

All this unfolded in the commentary box during the first innings of the match where Thunder were batting. Although they had a bit of an early collapse which saw them being reduced to 65/4, a bit of a partnership was emerging for the fifth wicket during which the commentators took this liberty.

Eventually, the Thunder made 151/5 with Alex Ross making an unbeaten 77 from 49 deliveries. However, the total did not prove to be enough as Stars chased it down with 17 balls to go. Andre Russell was the star for the winning team and was even adjudged the Player of the Match for his quickfire innings of an unbeaten 42 from 21 balls after he went wicketless and conceded 38 runs in his 4 fours.
