The ongoing state of war between Russia and Ukraine in Europe has had it's effects on the world of sports. However, among the football clubs, it's Chelsea who are probably feeling the highest amount of impact. With UK coming up with various sanctions on Russia, the owner of club, Mr. Roman Abramovich - who is considered as close ally of Vladimir Putin - has been forced to step down from his position.
"I am today giving trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC. I believe that currently they are in the best position to look after the interests of the Club, players, staff, and fans," Roman said in an official statement released by the club last week.
However, since the Russian did not mention anything about the ongoing situation in Ukraine, the statement did not go down too well with public and even experts like Jamie Carragher termed it 'really poor' and 'embarrassing'.
I have no answers for you: Thomas Tuchel
Since then, Chelsea's manager Thomas Tuchel has been bombarded with questions around the same in press conference and it seems like the German has had enough. Ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup match against Luton Town, the 48-year-old lashed out at the journalist who asked his views on state of war and club owners' statement.
Listen, listen. You have to stop. I am not a politician. You have to stop, honestly. I can only repeat it. And I even feel bad to repeat it because I never experienced war. So even to talk about it, I feel bad because I am very privileged. I sit here in peace. And I do the best I can but you have to stop asking me these questions. I have no answers for you.
