The Indian Women’s team pulled off an incredible win to beat Pakistan in the T20 World Cup opener in South Africa. After a sub-par bowling display, the Indian batters clinically carried the team over the finish line. The star of this performance was the top-order batter, Jemimah Rodrigues, who created a Deja Vu moment for fans as she replicated Virat Kohli’s knock against Pakistan.

Both these star players carried the team through difficult moments and played a massive role in beating their arch-rivals on the biggest stage. Celebrating these knocks, ICC posted a video, stitching the highlight clips from both games, where Rodigues and Kohli are mirroring each other.

Going back to the game, Jemimah Rodrigues scored 53 runs in 38 balls with eight boundaries. After the game, the 22-year-old talked about how she took inspiration from Kohli’s performance in Melbourne.  "India v Pakistan matches are always a little bit more special -- we spoke about it in the team meeting," she said.

"Growing up we always watched these matches. I remember watching the match at the MCG where Virat Kohli played such an extraordinary knock. We did speak about it but we also just wanted to go out there and put our first win on the board. We just wanted to go out, play the same cricket and with the same intensity as usual," she further added.

Now the Women in Blue will take on West Indies in their Group B fixture on February 15 before locking horns against England.
