After a thrilling exhibition match between India Maharajas and World Giants on September 16 (Friday), the second edition of the Legends League Cricket resumed on Saturday with its first official match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants at iconic Eden Garden in Kolkata. After being invited to bat first, India Capitals is having a horrific start to their LLC campaign as the side lost has already lost four of their batters in 6.2 overs.

Meanwhile, Capital's top-order batter So lomon Mire survived a brutal hit on his helmet in the third over being bowled by right-arm fast-medium Rayad Emrit. When Emrit bowled a slower ball, the fifth ball of the over, the batter tried to play an innovative shot on the on side by going down on his knee but missed it completely and the ball went on to hit his helmet.

Fortunately, Mire survived the hit and responded with a smile to the bowler who reached out to check if he was doing fine. Notably, Mire could only add 9-runs off 11 deliveries before being dismissed off the same bowler reducing the team's total to 21-3.
