On the eve of the third Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series, Indian fielding coach T Dilip organised a special drill for the players at the Gabba in Brisbane. The 44-year-old divided the Indian squad into three teams, to throw down different objects placed at a certain distance in front of them, which sparked a lot of fun and banter among the players after their disappointing performance in the second Test.

Notably, after winning the first Test of the BGT series by 295 runs at the Optus Stadium in Perth under Jasprit Bumrah’s captaincy, the Indian cricket team lost the second Test at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide by 10 wickets while being led by returning captain Rohit Sharma. With the third Test of the series at the Gabba in Brisbane expected to serve up a spicy pitch, a yet another low scoring contest between India and Australia is currently on the cards.

India and Australia are level at 1-1 in the BGT series after first two Test matches

Ahead of the all-important third Test in the BGT series, the fun fielding drill under T Dilip was about each of the three teams needing to hit six different targets in their assigned 18 balls, and once the ball hits the target, it will get removed from the contest. After the likes of Harshit Rana, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant nailed their targets, while Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, were among some of the players who missed, it was the second team who got declared the winners.

The funniest part of the entire video was how Rishabh Pant explained that Sarfaraz Khan wanted to be part of more than one team during the fielding drill. Such a happy and relaxed atmosphere in the Indian cricket team will keep them in good stead during the upcoming Test at the Gabba in Brisbane in the BGT series, which is currently level at 1-1 with two more matches set to happen in Melbourne and Sydney.
