It was all smiles, hugs and selfies when India and Pakistan women cricketers met after their first game in T20 World Cup 2023 concluded on Sunday evening in Cape Town.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led side produced a dominating show on Sunday as the Women in Blue clinched a 7-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan. Meanwhile, both the teams regrouped after the match and shared laughter, hugs and a lot of selfies as they got to spend some quality time with each other.

The video which was shared by Pakistan Cricket shows Pakistan’s Ayesha Naseem congratulating Indian wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh for playing a match-defining knock. Also, Pakistan veteran Nida Dar was seen having a laughter riot with Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who missed the match due to injury. 

Indian skipper and Nida Dar also exchanged signed jerseys of the respective teams. In the end, the players gathered for a group photo.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur claimed that it was a crucial game for her side as Pakistan is a quality team and can upset any quality side in the world. “Pakistan batted really well but we wanted to win and Jemi and Richa played really well. Very sensible batting from both of them. All the players are keen to do well for the team. It's a good sign for us,” Kaur said after the match.

On the other hand, the Pakistan skipper claimed that her team will try to do well in the next game. "The batters played their roles well. Ayesha was crucial for us with that knock,” Maroof added.
