India Women star batter Jemimah Rodrigues has posted a video on a social media platform in which she can be seen near a bhelpuri stall where she is about to be served the popular Indian snack in a newspaper in which the young batter’s image is printed. Rodrigues, who will be next seen for India Women in the upcoming white-ball series in England, played a vital role in her team’s victory in Sri Lanka tri-series. In the trilateral competition, she chipped in with 245 runs in four innings of five matches, at a breathtaking strike rate of 117.78.
Talking about her post, she took to Instagram and posted a clip which shows a snack cart on which a newspaper features Jemimah on the front page. Noting it, she smiles and says, “This bhaiya doesn’t know that I am going to eat bhel in the same newspaper he is going to make it in.” The video also shows her holding the same newspaper with bhel in it.
Eyes will be set on Jemimah Rodrigues during the England tour
Jemimah Rodrigues will be expected to showcase her brilliant side from her bat in the upcoming England tour. India’s campaign will take place from June 28 to July 22 and during this period, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team will play three Women’s One-Day internationals (WODI) and Women’s T20 Internationals (WT20I).
In their previous England tour in 2022, India Women emerged victorious against the hosts in the three-match WODI series by 3-0. Kaur led the side from the front and contributed 221 runs in three WODIs at a strike rate of 103.27. The tour is also remembered for Deepti Sharma’s infamous mankad against Charlie Dean in the final WODI, played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
