WATCH: Joel Embiid stomp Grant Williams during Celtics' Game 3 win over 76ers

After the incident, the league's MVP went to Williams to check on him and both had a humble conversation.

The NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals 2023 between Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers was full of action as the visitors took a 2-1 lead after winning game 3 at the Wells Fargo Center on Friday. However, in the final quarter of the game, Sixers center and NBA MVP 2023, Joel Embiid accidentally stepped on Grant Williams' head leaving the Celtics forward bloodied, videos have gone viral on social media.

During the fourth quarter of game 3 between the 76ers and the Celtics, Joel Embiid unintentionally stomped Williams on a loose ball play, which left the Celtics forward with a bloodied face. Williams and his teammate Jaylen Brown fell on the floor just behind Embiid, who accidentally stepped on the back of Williams' head. The Celtics forward instantly grabbed his face and was treated on the bench before he returned to the game.

Embiid checks on Williams after the incident

After the incident, the league's MVP went to Williams and checked on him. Both had a humble conversation as Williams returned to the court after his treatment and  Joel Embiid began by saying, "My bad. I landed on your head?" On the other hand, Williams didn't get offended by the incident and replied,  "Hey, it's the playoffs, brother."

Joel Continued,  "Y'all fell. I tried to fall.  I tried to jump over, " and Williams responded,  "I knew you were going for the ball.  It's what we battle for, bro."

The Celtics went on to win the game 114-102, despite Embiid's 30 points and 13 rebounds as Jayson Tatum (27) and Jaylen Brown (23) combined for 50 points. After the game, Williams was shown the video of the incident and he told reporters,  "I was like, Dang, I really got curb stomped." Meanwhile, t he Sixers will next face the Celtics in Philadelphia on Sunday in game 4 of their Conference Semifinals.
