The ninth game of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is being played between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. After opting to bowl first, Mumbai had to see the Jos Buttler carnage as the swashbuckling batters smashed a century. It was Buttler's second century in IPL for RR and first against Mumbai Indians.

The right-handed batter looked in great touch right from the start. Although he struggled to get going in the initial phase of his innings, Buttler got his rhythm against Basil Thampi. The RR batter amassed 26 runs in Thampi's over with the help of two boundaries and three sixes. Buttler continued the onslaught as he reached his half-century in 32 balls.

But he did not stop there. The Rajasthan opener continued to trouble the Mumbai bowlers as he smashed a century in 66 balls. However, he had to wait for around 40 seconds to celebrate the landmark as MI appealed for an LBW dismissal against him.

Buttler shows no mercy, but Bumrah wins the battle!

The Rajasthan Royals' opening batter showed no mercy on any of the Mumbai Indians bowlers. Buttler kept his aggressive intent intact right till the end of his innings. He started his onslaught by aggregating 26 runs in Basil Thampi over. He then kept building on the fiery start from there on as the right-handed batter scored eleven boundaries and five sixes in his innings. With Buttler smashing every MI bowler around the park, Rohit Sharma decided to call Jasprit Bumrah.

And the pacer delivered for his captain. Bumrah bowled back-to-back yorkers to Buttler and kept him on the backfoot. Although Buttler survived the LBW appeal, Bumrah did not allow him to break free. With the slog overs on and his eyes set, Buttler tried to take on MI's best bowler on the day as well. But Bumrah was spot on with his yorker as the right-arm pacer bowled one right in the blockhole to uproot Buttler's stumps and put an end to a fabulous inning.
