Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are locking horns in Match 64 of IPL 2022. The two teams are fighting hard with a do-or-die situation for both of them. With a playoff berth at stake, the match is expected to be a nail-biter. And a few glimpses of the same has been already seen in the first few minutes of the play.

After being asked to bat first, DC lost David Warner on the very first ball of the match. Liam Livingstone accounted for the southpaw batter with a regular off-spinner. Nonetheless, Mitchell Marsh and Sarfaraz Khan got Delhi’s innings back on track with a quick half-century partnership. But Khan’s quick cameo was cut short by Arshdeep Singh.

With two early wickets, Punjab bowlers felt pumped up and it reflected in their bowling in the next few overs. Kagiso Rabada, in particular, looked all charged up as he was firing bouncers at the new batter Lalit Yadav. On one such delivery, the ball hit Yadav on his helmet.

On the fifth delivery of the sixth over, Rabada bowled a well-directed bouncer. However, Lalit Yadav somehow managed to put bat to it and the ball raced towards the boundary ropes. On the next ball as well, Rabada came charging with another venomous bouncer. This time, Yadav could not get his bat in line and the ball hit him on the helmet.

Lucky Lalit!

Lalit Yadav had a nervy start to his innings on Monday evening as he almost lost his wicket on the very first ball he faced. After Sarfaraz was dismissed, Yadav walked into bat at No.4 and was welcomed by a short-pitch delivery. He pulled it away but with no timing on it, the ball was caught by Jonny Bairstow at fine leg boundary. Fortunately for Lalit, the bowler had overstepped and he survived a golden duck.
