The 2019 finalists, New Zealand are taking on Pakistan in Match 35 of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the Babar Azam-led side won the toss and invited the Kiwis to bat first, the side posted 401 runs on the board, courtesy a century from Rachin Ravindra and a brilliant knock of 95 off 79 deliveries from the skipper Kane Williamson on his return.

After putting a brilliant score on the board, the side got their first breakthrough in the second over of the Pakistan inning. Bowling the final delivery of the second over, Tim Southee kept it full and wide of with a hint of a swing and Abdullah Shafique lofted it trying to surpass the boundary over the covers, but just fell short a Kane Williamson, who was stationed close to the mid-off, rushed to complete a brilliant catch.

The New Zealand skipper slide at the last moment to claim the catch over his right shoulder. It is to be noted that Williamson made his return into the XI after fracturing his thumb in match against Bangladesh in Chennai. However, the side called his Tom Bundell as his cover for the remainder of the tournament.
