KL Rahul playing against Mumbai Indians seems a fixed pattern. The batter loves playing against the five-time champions and he showed why on Sunday evening. KL Rahul notched up his second three-figure score in IPL 2022 and once again it was against Mumbai Indians.

After being asked to bat first, KL Rahul put on a show at the Wankhede Stadium as the LSG captain scored a glorious 103* off 62 deliveries. Rahul hit 12 boundaries and four sixes in his innings. To make it even more special, Rahul crossed the 100-run mark with a maximum.

He launched the first ball of the 20th over from Riley Meredith for a maximum over deep-midwicket stands to bring up his century.

KL makes it three against Mumbai!

As already stated, KL Rahul loves playing against Mumbai Indians, and his numbers are enough to prove that. The right-handed batter scored his third IPL century against Mumbai Indians and also became the only player to score the most number of centuries against an opposition. In fact, Rahul is now just five runs shy of becoming the batter with the most number of runs against Mumbai.

Currently, Rahul has scored 867 runs in 16 matches at an average of 86.70 against Mumbai Indians. In IPL 2022, in two meetings, Rahul has scored 206 runs and has remained unbeaten on both occasions.

On the back of Rahul's prolific knock, Lucknow Super Giants posted 168/6 on the board. While Rahul completely owned all of the MI bowlers, other LSG batters could not leave much of an impact. All batters scored 57 runs of 58 balls combined. For Mumbai, Kieron Pollard was the best bowler with his two wickets in the game.

The all-rounder bowled two overs and only conceded eight runs. Hrithik Shokeen also impressed in his two overs as he only gave away 11 runs. Daniel Sams and Riley Meredith conceded 80 runs in their eight overs. Jasprit Bumrah could only chip in with one wicket in his four overs. The MI pacer conceded 31 runs in the process.
