KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are childhood friends and have lived the dream of playing for India together. However, as luck would have it, April 29 was the first time that the two were up against each other as captains of rival teams. While KL Rahul was named the captain of the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants, Mayank Agarwal was named the Punjab Kings captain ahead of IPL 2022.
During the two team's meeting at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday, both captains seemed to have the upper hand over the other. While Agarwal handed the ball to Kagiso Rabada who got KL Rahul out early, later Rahul grabbed a stunning catch to get rid of his friend.
The ball seemed beautifully timed off the bat of Agarwal but did not have enough elevation. KL Rahul, standing at mid-off shuffled towards his left at mid-off and then times his jump to perfection before pouching a splendid catch over his head.

As it turned out, it was a huge moment in the match as none of the other Punjab batters barring Jonny Bairstow (32) seemed comfortable on the wicket after Agarwal departed for 25 runs. As a result, Punjab fell short of the Lucknow Super Giants total of 153 by 20 runs.
Mohsin Khan (3/24) and Krunal Pandya (2/11) were the pick of the bowlers for Lucknow and Pandya bagged the Player of the Match award for the same.
