The last league game of IPL 2021 probably turned out to be one of the most exciting ones of the tournament as table-toppers Delhi Capitals were stunned by Royal Challengers Bangalore in dramatic circumstances in Dubai. After being asked to bat first, Rishabh Pant's side posted a competitive total of 164/5 in 20 overs.

RCB got off to a forgettable start in their run-chase as Anrich Nortje dismissed the opening duo of Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal quite early in the innings. However, little did many know that KS Bharat, who returned to bat at No. 3 on Friday, would end up playing a match-defining knock.

What a finish by KS Bharat to win the match for RCB

After adding a few crucial runs with AB de Villiers, KS Bharat was joined by Glenn Maxwell in the middle as the duo stitched a fantastic partnership. Both the players batted very sensibly and kept RCB in the run-chase by hitting boundaries at regular intervals. However, Anrich Nortje bowled an outstanding penultimate over (where he conceded only 4 runs) to almost seal the game for DC.

Virat Kohli's side needed 15 runs off the final over, which was being bowled by in-form Avesh Khan. Maxwell started off with a boundary but the DC pacer bounced back to get his side back into the contest. RCB needed 6 runs off the final delivery when Avesh lost his line and bowled a wide. He was feeling the pressure and eventually bowled a full toss on the next one as KS Bharat found decent contact as the ball was skied in the air towards the long-on region.

It looked like Axar Patel would get on the end of it but the luck favoured the brave KS Bharat as the ball sailed over the boundary for a six as RCB won the match in dramatic circumstances.
