Paris Saint-Germain secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois at the Parc des Princes. Brazilian superstar Neymar netted his 10th goal of the season to give the Parisians the victory over  Brest and consolidate their top spot in the French League.

The defending champions of France could have doubled their league when Lionel Messi, who has looked incredible in his second season at PSG, combined with Neymar to open the scoring in the 30th minute. Neymar also tried to set up Mbappe who couldn’t find the back of the net in the low-scoring contest. Mbappe accidentally blocked Messi's shot to score from a close range as the Argentine's left-footed shot hit Mbappe before and rebounded out of play.

Another key moment from the game was when Brest won a penalty which was comfortable blocked away by PSG keeper Gigio Donnarumma. Reacting to the team’s win and his penalty, the Italian said, “We’re also happy for our fans who are always there for us and we wanted to win game for them. It’s really important to be able to suffer together and we saw that today. We knew it wouldn’t be easy so we needed to suffer together. We did well as a team and obviously, we won the game and we put in a good performance.”

“The penalty? I studied the player a bit and it worked out. I was just concentrating on saving the penalty because I was sure that I could save it so it worked out. Now, we’re onto other things. We’re playing the next game in the Champions League we need to be focused. We’re working well and we’re going there to win."
