Manchester United suffered another injury blow during their Europa League fixture against Sevilla on Thursday night (April 14) at the Old Trafford. The World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez was seen in pain as he suddenly stopped on the ground late during the match and was even helped off the pitch in the clash.

The 25-year-old was left in tears as he was taken off the field by his Argentina teammates, with Man United leading the game at this mark 2-0 in the Europa League quarterfinal clash.

With two injuries in this match against Seville, the list of Erik ten Hag’s men now stands long. Martinez and Varane have now joined already injured Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho for the Red Devils.

“It doesn’t look that great. We have to wait. I can’t say in this moment, same with Rapha. It’s an injury complaint [he’s had] over the last couple of weeks, so we have to see how it is now,” said Ten Hag on Licha’s injury.

Talking about the match, United’s January signing Marcel Sabitzer gave his side a 2-0 lead in space of seven minutes at the start of the quarter-final clash against Sevilla. The visitors looked to get back in the game, but a save from David de Gea denied Tanguy Nianzou a penalty.
