Ahead of the big-ticket Champions League fixture between Real Madrid and Liverpool, the Reds’ fans decided to burst countless fireworks outside their hotel in the early hours. The Spanish giants arrived in England on Monday and were staying at Innside Liverpool Hotel but had their sleep disturbed at around 2 am.

Entering this UCL, both clubs are desperate for wins after experiencing significant drops in their 2022-23 campaign. The  Merseyside club is eighth on the Premier League table, whereas Carlo Ancelotti’s men are second behind arch-rivals Barcelona with a depleted squad. Hence, this late fireworks show by Liverpool could be detrimental to Madrid players and their preparation for the marquee match-up.

These fireworks were set off at the entrance of Real Madrid’s hotel and lasted for some time. Actions like these have been common for Liverpool fans over the years as they pulled off similar antics in 2019 before their magical 4-0 win against Barcelona at Anfield. They were also seen attacking the Real Madrid bus in 2021 when both teams locked horns in the quarterfinals.

Like the fans, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also ready for the fixture and believes that his club is ready for Real Madrid. Klopp talked about how the Reds have gradually turned the tables on their 2022-23 season but still stated that his team needs two super games against the 14-time UCL champs.

"I'm really happy we can play this game now rather than a few weeks ago," Klopp said. "We need to play a super game. Two super games to be honest to get through. I have no problem with that. We always work so hard for qualifying for the Champions League that I really think you have to cherish these moments. It will be a special game.”
