Abhishek Kumar, who came to bat at number four for his side finished as the highest-scorer for his side with 42* runs in 23 deliveries. In the seventh over, bowled by Vishwanath Jadhav, Kumar scored nine runs off the fourth ball. It was due to the ‘9 Street Runs’ rule of the league, which states that if a baller hits a six and the ball goes over the fence to one of the audience stands, the team will be awarded nine runs instead of six runs like usual cricketing rules.
Apart from this unique rule, the league has several other unique rules including the tape ball over, 50-50 over, powerplay rule, tennis ball rule, and many others. These rules set the league apart from other kinds of leagues in the sport.
Coming back to the match, Mumbai posted a total of 149 runs with a loss of five wickets. Chennai Singhams failed to chase the mammoth total and despite Ketan Mhatre’s 60-off-21, Singhams could only manage to score 128 runs and lost the game by a margin of 21 runs.
