The sale of Manchester United seems to be going on forever now, as according to the most recent reports, Sheikh Jassim is leading the race to become the new owner of United in a £6 billion deal that is set to close in October. The fans are getting impatient, as they have organized multiple protests in the past months and are again protesting against the owners before the Red Devils play Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 26.

The Glazers have had a difficult relationship with fan groups, to say the least, over the years. At one point, the tensions were so high that a protest outside Old Trafford in 2021 saw Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Liverpool abandoned amid chaotic scenes. Supporters' group "The 1958" has organized numerous protests in opposition to the Glazers during the ownership dispute and had announced their intentions on X.

“Even club staff are handing out protest flyers! They’ve had enough. We’ve all had enough. Forest, sit in protest, for 60 minutes. Nobody recognises our club any more. From the inept and weak leadership to the morally corrupt ownership. Heads need to roll! The 1958” reads the callout for supports on X.

Although the fans had organized a protest after the game, according to recent clips, the agitation started long before the game itself. In the video, the fans can be seen carrying posters that say ‘Glazers Out’ along with red flares on the streets of Manchester.

Talking about the game, the Red Devils will look to come back strong from their defeat against Tottenham last weekend, when they lost 2-0. Forest, meanwhile, are looking to claim their first Premier League away win since January and end their 29-year wait for a victory over the Red Devils.
