Manchester United's star footballer Mason Greenwood, who has been in controversy lately, has again drawn the limelight, but for the wrong reason. The 20-year-old young prodigy who is out on bail on alleged rape and assault charges has reportedly been involved in a verbal argument with a United fan. In a video doing the rounds on social media, Greenwood gets frustrated over a man who was reportedly taunting him.

In the video, Greenwood was seen engaged on a phone when an anonymous fan interrupted him, which made the United star footballer furious. Mason swiped his hand at the man and asked him just to go away. Reportedly, police are due to submit a report to the Crown Prosecution Service after the 20-year-old England international was arrested on suspected assault and threats to kill a young girl.

The United player was released on bail last month before being abruptly being dumped by sponsor Nike without receiving a penny of compensation. The report citing the source claimed that Greenwood is on bail, but things are at an advanced stage. The police and CPS are currently discussing if there is a case or not to bring against him.

The young footballer was reportedly removed from video games such as FIFA 22, Football Manager 2022, and United's app. He remains on bail pending further investigation. GMP confirmed the bail will expire on April 30 and could then be extended. Reports also suggested that officers arrived at Greenwood's £14,000-a-month Cheshire mansion on January 31 after seeing a woman report physical violence and sexual threats on social media. Following allegations, the footballer was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault of an 18-year-old student.

Greenwood, who is regarded as one of England's most talented young footballers, was suspended - on his complete £75,000-a-week pay deal - by United following the arrest.
