Matthew Wade played a blinder of an innings to power Australia to the finals of the T20 World Cup. The wicketkeeper-batter arrived when Australia were struggling at 95-5. From there, Wade and Marcus Stoinis stitched a brilliant partnership to take Australia over the line.

Bowling first, Australian pacers looked average against the spirited Pakistan batters as they smashed them all around the park. Mohammed Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman scored brilliant half-centuries to propel Pakistan to 176.

The score looked like a winning one when Shaheen Shah Afridi got rid of Australian skipper Aaron Finch in the first over. David Warner played a handy knock of 49 but he was losing partners at the other end. The game looked set for Pakistan when Shadab Khan dismissed Warner. However, Stoinis and Wade took the game deep and smashed 50 runs in the last 3 overs to snatch win from Men in Green.

Needing 22 from 12 deliveries, Wade went for a hoik over covers but was dropped by Hasan Ali. The drop proved to be costly as Wade went berserk and smashed the next 3 balls for sixes to win the game for Australia.
