The 26th match of the Women's Big Bash League 2022 between Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars was played at the North Sydney Oval on November 2 as the Stars defeated the Strikers by 22 runs. Stars all-rounder Sasha Moloney had a remarkable outing as she picked four wickets and grabbed a stunning catch to dismiss  Adelaide Strikers batter Laura Wolvaardt.

After winning the toss, Adelaide Strikers elected to bowl first and restricted Melbourne Stars at 186 runs with a loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Tess Flintoff scored unbeaten 51 runs off just 16 balls with three sixes and six fours after Lauren Winfield-Hill (47) and Alice Capsey (49) gave their team a strong start.

While chasing the target, Adelaide Strikers felt 22 runs short as the Stars' Sasha Moloney picked four wickets to help her side restrict the Strikers at 168 runs with a loss of four wickets. During final delivery of the ninth over, which was bowled by Tess Flintoff, all-rounder Sasha Moloney grabbed a sensational catch at the mid-wicket to dismiss in-form batter  Laura Wolvaardt at 30 runs.

In the first innings, ASW all-rounder Deandra Dottin picked two wickets in her four overs at an economy of 8.50. Apart from her, Jemma Barsby and Megan Schutt picked one wicket each while Brigdet Patterson was involved in Kim Garth's runout.

Adelaide Strikers felt 22 runs short while chasing the target as only four players could score runs in the double digits. Katie Mack scored 47 runs off 38 balls with six fours while Bridget Patterson smashed 41 off 23 with two sixes and three fours.
