Sporting events are often littered with bloopers which create bigger news in comparison to the real games. One such hilarious blooper was seen during the recent Women’s Big Bash League game between the Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers at Lilac Hill Park in Perth.

During this game, Melbourne Stars’ Sasha Moloney sent opener K atie Mack back to the pavilion with a caught and bowled dismal in the second over of the game. But what followed this dismissal has been making the rounds on the internet as she ended up throwing the ball on her own head in celebration.

Going back to the game, Madeline Penna played an incredible knock that ended up as the difference for Adelaide Strikers who edged out the Stars in a low-scoring WBBL clash in Perth. Chasing 113 runs, the Strikers were reduced to 3 for 18 when Deandra Dottin, Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt were sent back to the pavilion in the space of the first four overs.

Penna put up 56 not out from 50 balls as she batted with Bridget Patterson (31 off 33) to put 44 to clinch the win. Incredibly, this was the third time Penna had scored 56, her highest score in WBBL. Talking about Sasha Moloney, she had an incredible fielding display where she took four catches including the before-mentioned caught and bowled.
