The Charlotte Hornets were playing the most important match of their season against the Atlanta Hawks when their forward Miles Bridges found himself in foul trouble and was removed after receiving his second technical foul. But what followed was unwarranted as Bridges attempted to hit a taunting Hawks fan and in the process hit another fan standing near him.
In the post-match press conference, the former Spartan took full responsibility for his actions and also agreed to face any charges levied by the NBA. “I let my temper get the best of me. That was definitely the wrong thing to do by throwing my mouthpiece," Bridges said after the game.
"I was aiming for the guy that was screaming at me, and it hit the little girl, so that's definitely unacceptable on my part and I take full responsibility, and I'm ready for any consequences that the NBA may give me.
Bridges also asked if he could contact the other fan he hit while throwing the mouthpiece as he wants to apologise to her. He continued, “That's on me. That's out of character for me. ... I was definitely wrong, a lot of emotions. Hopefully, I can get in contact with the little girl and sincerely apologize to her and do something nice for her.”

Two consecutive technical fouls
As the Hornets were behind in the fourth quarter by 31 points, frustrations grew and Bridges was caught aggressively approaching the officials as he was called a personal foul and a goaltend. The forward then received his first technical foul and hence was seen using profane language towards the referee, resulting in the second technical foul.

Charlotte Hornets coach James Borrego spoke about how Bridges was riding high on emotions and he would talk with the 24-year-old when he has more information about the incident. Borrego said, “I'm sure we'll gather some more information and I need some time to talk to Miles and I know he was very emotional at the time, so I'll gather some more information.”
The Buzz City is now out of the playoffs for the sixth consecutive year as the Atlanta Hawks won the game 132-103.
