Starc-2

Mitchell Starc is undoubtedly one of the most feared bowlers, who is often a nightmare to face for batters across the globe in world of cricket. The left-arm pacer looked in good rhythm in the Ashes 2021-22 but things are not going according to plan for him in ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka.

He conceded 41 runs in 4 overs in first match before missing the subsequent contest. Starc returned to the playing XI for 3rd T20I and had another disappointing outing. On a day when Sri Lanka scored only 121/6 in 20 overs, Starc failed to take any wicket while going for 30 runs in his spell.

In addition, he bowled a shocker during his last over of the contest which summed up his outing at Manuka Oval. In an effort to probably bowl an off-cutter, the ball slipped out of Starc's hand and went way over the head of batsman Dasun Shanaka.

Even the wicketkeeper Matthew Wade was deceived by the unbelievable line and length as he failed to stop it, with ball racing towards the boundary. The commentators were also left baffled by what they saw as they opined that it could be the dew factor coming into play. The replays showed that the ball was actually 3 meters above the ground level, which was just outrageous.

Meanwhile, in the contest, Australia had a tricky start during the run-chase after they lost wickets of Ben McDermott and Ashtin Agar early in the innings. However, Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell struck a crucial partnership and at the time of writing, the equation read 76 runs required off 76 balls with 8 wickets in hand, for Australia to seal the series.
