WATCH: Mitchell Starc provides injury update, to miss 1st Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy

In a big update it has been confirmed that Australian pacer Mitchell Starc will miss the opening Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The star pacer will miss the Nagpur Test against the hosts India due to an injury he suffered during the Boxing Day Test last year against South Africa.

During the Australian Cricket Awards which took place on January 30 (Monday), the premier pacer confirmed this when the host asked about his injury update. “I am track…still a couple of weeks and then probably meet the guys in Delhi…after …hopefully, a first Test match win …get myself into training over there.”

The Border Gavaskar Trophy is set to kickstart in India on February  9, 2023. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur will host the first test of the series , followed by the second Test scheduled to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, starting February 17, 2023. The third Test will commence after a week’s gap in Dharamsala , followed by the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad.
