South Africa’s poor form with the bat continued in the Boxing Day Test. After being bowled out for 189 in the first innings, the Proteas were bundled out for 204 on Day 4 of the Test. The Aussies won the second Test with an inning and 182 runs as they ended the year on the top of the World Test Championship Final points table.

While the match looked like a one-sided game, there was some exchange of words on Day 4 of the second Test between Australia pacer Mitchell Starc and South Africa batter Theunis de Bruyn. Despite the ruling doesn’t mandate a prior warning in ‘Mankad’, the bowler in Mitchell Starc preferred to do.

On the third ball of his ninth over, Mitchell Starc warned the South African batter as he was heard giving some piece of mind. “Stay in the crease. It’s not that hard. It’s (the crease) there for a reason mate!” Starc was caught saying on the Stump mic.
