In a shocking turn of events, MMA fighter Miguel Grijalva suffered a knee injury minutes before his bout to start. "El Chevere" was scheduled to fight Martin Mollinedo at the Fusion Fighting Championship 64 on July 20. Both fighters were heading into a highly anticipated bout as they headlined the card in Lima, Peru.

The Ecuadorian bruiser stepped inside the octagon and was seemingly pumped up for the bout. However, his excitement soon turned into tragedy and caused him to hurt his knee. The 21-year-old fighter began with the customary warm-up routine with stretches and jumps. But the young fighter jumped high in the air and slammed his feet with full force on the canvas.

Grijalva blew his knee and fell on the ground in agony, leaving commentators and spectators in absolute shock. The physios rushed to the octagon and helped Grijalava get back to the dressing room. Later, the medical examinations revealed that he suffered a blown-out knee, and likely tore his ACL and MCL.
Notably, such injuries require lengthy recovery, and the process lasts for up to a minimum of nine months. Speaking of the Ecuadorian fighter, Grijalva boasts an eight-fight winning streak and is popular for his featherweight fights.
