The Pakistan Super League 2023 is underway. Although the tournament did not have a perfect start as the start of the opener got delayed after the floodlights caught fire. However, all things were put under control before the match commenced in Multan. In the second game also, the on-field drama continued on Tuesday (14 February) during the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings.

But during the sixth over of the Peshawar innings, an incident took place which caught a lot of limelight. On the fifth delivery of the sixth over, Babar Azam flicked the full and straight on leg delivery for a four in the backward square leg region after he smashed a four in Amir’s first over. This four did fume the bowler Mohammad Amir. However, on the very next delivery, Babar, who was on strike, played the delivery with ease which went straight to the bowler. But with frustration on Amir’s face, he picked the ball and threw the ball towards the batter.

However, the ball was collected by the wicketkeeper with injuries to no one in the middle.

 

Talking about the match, Karachi Kings won the toss and invited Peshawar Zalmi to bat first. On the back of a brilliant 92 off 50 from Kohler-Cadmore and Babar Azam’s 46-ball 68, the Zalmi’s posted 199/5 in their 20 overs. Karachi skipper Imad Wasim played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 80 with Shoaib Malik also contributing with a well-made half century, but all their efforts went in vain as they lost the game by two runs.

 

Karachi Kings will next face Islamabad United in match number 4, while the Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi will take on Multan Sultan in match number 5 of the tournament.
