It’s the business end of the tournament in Pakistan Super League 2021. While Multan Sultans are already through to the final of the tournament after stitching an emphatic win over Islamabad United in Qualifier of the tournament, they await the second finalist of the competition which will be either Islamabad or Peshawar. However, Islamabad did not go down without a fight and one desperate attempt of their batter trying to save his wicket in the death overs has now gone viral on the internet.

The incident happened on the last ball of the 18th over which was being bowled by Mohammad Imran Khan. While Islamabad needed 35 runs to win from 13 balls before the final ball was to be delivered, the reason to worry was the wickets column which showed only two wickets in hand. But given that the required run rate was also rocketing, Mohammad Wasim, the striker, premeditated a scoop shot and went too far across the off stump. However, when he missed his shot and saw the ball coming towards his wicket, he put his leg in front of it, only to be given Leg Before Wicket.

But he didn’t take the walk back to the pavilion even when it appeared to be out but decided to go for the review as a last resort. Wasim had to depart for 13 from 8 balls eventually as even the third umpire failed to save him.

Meanwhile, Peshawar beat Karachi Kings by 5 wickets and now have a chance to reach the final if they beat Islamabad United later on Tuesday. Eliminator 2 will commence at 9:30 pm (IST) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi with both sides fighting to keep their dream of becoming PSL champion alive.
