After his match-winning performance in the fifth Test against England at the Oval, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj received a grand welcome in his home town Hyderabad. Siraj turned out to be a star in the final Test as India were successful in levelling the five-match series by 2-2 with a thrilling six-run win on day five. The right-arm pacer took nine wickets in the match including a five-wicket haul in the second innings as England lost four wickets for just 20 runs on the final day. He was also awarded Player of the Match for his game changing performance.

Mohammed Siraj also finished as leading wicket taker of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 with 23 scalps in five matches playing a crucial role in a series draw. Now, after almost 45 days of intense cricketing action, the players who were in the England tour are now back in India. Mohammed Siraj also returned to his hometown, Hyderabad where he received a grand welcome at the Rajiv Gandhi International airport.

Mohammed Siraj achieves career-best Test ranking after England Tests

With his heroics in the recently ended Test series against England, Mohammed Siraj also made a massive jump in his ICC Test bowlers’ ranking. The fast bowlers jumped 12 places to reach his career best Test ranking of 15. Siraj has been a constant performer for India in Tests in the last few years and bowled a total of 185.3 overs in the Test series against England.

Talking about the overall ranking, Joe Root remains at the top spot in ICC’s Test batters’ ranking while Jasprit Bumrah continues to be the number 1 Test bowler. Yashasvi Jaiswal is also highest ranked Indian batter in Test rankings as he returned to top-five, with Rishabh Pant being the second Indian to be in top-10.
