MS Dhoni, the Indian cricket legend, has been a prime focus of attention among fans and officials at any venue he goes to play cricket in the country and around the world, for years and years. Earlier today, when he made his first-ever appearance at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow for Chennai Super Kings’ clash against Lucknow Super Giants on May 3 in the Indian Premier League 2023, the atmosphere was no different.

To remember this massive moment for cricket in the city of Lucknow, Rajeev Shukla, the Vice President of BCCI, felicitated MSD with a commemorative bat and plaque to acknowledge his contributions to the sport for the better part of 20 years.

The official Twitter account of the Indian Premier League broke the news earlier this evening with a tweet listed below.

Meanwhile, the fixture between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants was officially called off due to persistent rains at the Ekana Cricket Stadium . Only 19.2 overs worth of play happened earlier today wherein LSG managed to put up a subpar total of 125/7 on the scoreboard. The youngster Ayush Badoni was the star of the innings for Super Giants as he scored 59 not out off 33 deliveries with 2 fours and 4 maximums. Apart from his innings, no other batter in the Lucknow team got more than 20 runs individually.

In the bowling side of things, it was the CSK spinners who did bulk of the damage collectively as they picked up 5 wickets in 11 overs at an outstanding economy of under 6 runs an over. Moeen Ali was the pick of the bowlers as he conceded 13 runs in his quota of 4 overs and picked up the important wicket of Kyle Mayers, early in the LSG innings.
