It has been a run feast in Match 2 of the Brabourne Stadium between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai Indians posted a strong total of 177 runs on the board, with Ishan Kishan contributing 81 off 48 balls. While Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma proved to be good support for the wicket-keeper as well.
Chasing the total of 178, the Delhi Capitals lost wickets in quick interval and were looking towards a defeat but a brilliant partnership between Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel led the team to a stunning win.
However, Murugan Ashwin was quite terrific with his bowling . The leg spinner bowled a quick googly to dismiss Tim Seifert. He then followed it up with the wicket of Mandeep Singh in the same over, who could not clear mid-on fielder and got dismissed on a duck off a full toss. These dismissals had a ripple effect on captain Rishabh Pant as well, who was dismissed by fast bowler Tymal Mills an over later.

Prithvi Shaw and Lalit Yadav then put together a stand of 40 runs to form the base for the chase. The Windies player Rovman Powell failed on his debut IPL appearance and could not trouble the scorers. The likes of Shardul Thakur (22 off 11) and Axar Patel (38 off 17) were impressive with their quick-fire contributions to keep the runs ticking at a sublime rate. It was certainly the best performance from youngster Lalit Yadav (48 off 38) in the IPL to see through the team in their first fixture of the 2022 edition.
