Bangladesh's miserable performance in the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup continues. While they had been playing good quality cricket in the build-up to the world event beating teams like New Zealand and Australia, their knack of underperforming in the World Cups has continued.

On Tuesday, they got bowled out for just 84 runs in the match against South Africa. Such poor was their performance that only three of their batters reached doubled figures and only managed a strike rate over 100. They could not play out the 20 overs and Nasum Ahmed became the last Bangladesh batter to get out.

Facing Anrich Nortje in top form and in great rhythm, Ahmed was perhaps expecting the fuller length delivery in the second ball of the penultimate over as he had rightly gone deep into the crease. However, as it turned out, his deep stance at the crease led to his undoing as he ended up disturbing the wickets with his own bat. Later, the ball also hit the wickets but he had already disturbed the stumps and was given hit-wicket out.

Here is the video:

Nortje had been in great form throughout the innings and was the pick of the Proteas pacer in the match, finishing with outstanding figures of 3 wickets for 8 runs. In addition, Kagiso Rabada also scalped 3 wickets for 20 in his quota of 4 overs.

In the second innings, Bangladesh have managed to pick three early wickets for 33 runs on the board inside the powerplay, yet one has got to believe that it is the South Africa side who are favourites to win the match from here. While Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed has taken two wickets Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram, spinner Mahedi Hasan got the better of Quinton de Kock.

If South Africa indeed manage to win this match, this will be their third win in the fourth match of the Super 12 Round and will remain at the second position in Group 1 after England who have won four in four.
