The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 is taking an interesting turn in the early stages with Mumbai Indians (MI) clashing with Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The ongoing second WPL match witnessed a great knock by the England star Nat Sciver-Brunt for MI. Brunt, who scored 80* in 59 balls, and delivered one of her career-best performance today. Her superb half-century helped MI to get a competitive score of 164 in 19.1 overs.

Sciver displayed a great inning under pressure against Delhi Capitals in the first innings. However, the rest of the Mumbai Indians batting lineup failed to support her excluding the captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Brunt got past 80 runs with 13 fours, while Harmanpreet Kaur briefly supported her by scoring 42 off 22 balls with four fours and three sixes. The 73-run partnership helped MI in getting a decent total.

Delhi Capitals' Shikha Pandey registers figures of 2/14 in four-over spell

From Delhi's side, pacer Shikha Pandey on 2/14 in her four-over spell was quite successful. Rest of the DC bowlers proved to be expensive. Pandey helped DC get an early lead by removing both openers Hayley Matthews (0) and Yastika Bhatia (11) as Mumbai reached 42/2 at the end of the powerplay.

Since Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians are facing each other in their first encounter of the WPL 2025, both teams will look forward to having a good start with a win. Notably, MI has won three of their past five WPL meetings, while DC registered two wins. All-rounders play an important role in T20 cricket, and Mumbai Indians' Nat Sciver-Brunt and Delhi Capitals' Alice Capsey have been the focus of attention tonight.
