In the afternoon match of the double-header Sunday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) are hosting the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh on April 20. While the two sides recently met in Bengaluru, where the Shreyas Iyer-led side came out on top, handing RCB a five-wicket defeat.

While the Bengaluru-based franchise will hope to come out on top this time in the reverse fixture, a glimpse of their supremacy and match awareness was brought in the forefront during Punjab’s batting inning. After Krunal Pandya and Tim David’s combined effort helped RCB remove both the PBKS openers, a combined team effort then cut short Nehal Wadhera’s stay at the crease.

Virat Kohli, Tim David and Jitesh Sharma combine to dismiss Nehal Wadhera in PBKS vs RCB

With Rajat Patidar introducing Suyash Sharma to bowl the ninth over, he opted to bowl flat outside off. Inglis, who was on strike, punched it back over the bowler’s head and went for a single. Tim David, who was stationed at long-on, seized the opportunity as the batting duo went for another run and threw the ball in one swift motion towards the stumps. Kohli, backing up from cover, added pressure and quickly threw the ball towards the wicketkeeper-batter, Jitesh Sharma, who in turn dislodged the stumps and cut short Wadhera’s innings.

As Wadhera ran towards the danger end, he made a call, but Josh Inglis, who was in the middle with him, seemingly looked unaware and took a step back, showcasing his back. This hestitation did prove costly as Wadhera departed having scored just five off six deliveries.
